Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 7:02 AM EDT Sep. 30, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 4 am EDT Saturday...

* location: areas of southeast Virginia adjacent to the James River.

* Timing: within a few hours either side of high tide through Saturday
morning. Additional tidal flooding possible later Saturday.

* Impacts: inundation of water in and near low-lying coastal areas could lead
to Road closures and flooding of property.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds... wave action and / or
tides will combine to create flooding of low areas along the shore... and near
tidal rivers and creeks. Be prepared for the possibility of Road closures and
minor flooding of properties. If travel is necessary... do not attempt to drive
through water of unknown depth.

Time of the high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
Total tide combines astro tide and surge.
Flood category based on total tide.
