Several members of my family, and friends who are retirees ,moved out to Scottsdale and other areas in Phoenix. So, I appreciate photos of that area. Have a lot of calls to make tonight. I assume it was 3 inches of rain that fell. I'm sure that was welcome after the sweltering summer. Not so sure the drama was welcome.
Thank you.

That 3 inches of rain will hopefully dampen the dust storms / sand storms for a little while! Welcome to Weather Underground Wunder Photos! This photo is a great entry, with all its forms, colors, textures, etc. Very nice!

Thanks for the positive comments.
Yes this monsoon season is starting to make a dent in the several years of drought that we have been going through.
It's typical to have haboobs associated with the summer thunderstorms but recently they have been more intense due to the lack of vegitation ground cover in the deserts south of the Phoenix metro Almost all haboobs form to the south. Just north of Phoenix are the mountain ranges that climb all the way to the Mogollon rim and places like Flagstaff.

Great shot! I love how the storm, dwarfs the mountains in the distance.
