Yerrick Crick is freezing up, but it freezes from the bottom up. Fast moving water is coating the rocks with ice, as it tumbles out of the mountains.

Language is a funny old thing, a creek in the UK would be 'small stream'. A crick would be something i'd get in my neck! Back to the pic: great shot, i can see the ice.

Dave most 'Amercans' think a crick is something in your neck, but I'm a HICK with a RED NECK :) and a small stream to me will always be a crick! My teachers in school could not change my mind either.

Even more ice, less water, today.

Thanks for stopping by Heidrun, Gil, Ingrid and Dave!

About katy99780
katy99780 I've lived in Alaska since 1969. I really love this wild land. The extremes of the far north shape and affect every living thing. Extremes of weather, elevation, daylight hours, isolation, flora and fauna, nothing in Nature is insignificant.I have a Davis Vantage Pro weather station, uploading to Wunderground, (Turks on the Tundra) the National Weather Service, the Citizen Weather Observation Program and MADIS (Meteorological Assimilation Data Ingest System).
