... High surf advisory remains in effect until noon HST Thursday...

* surf... along east facing shores... 5 to 8 feet this evening...
increasing to 8 to 12 feet with higher sets tonight... then
declining on Wednesday afternoon.

* Timing... building tonight... peaking early Wednesday... then
declining late Wednesday.

* Impacts... moderate... expect strong breaking waves... shore
break... and strong currents making swimming dangerous.

Precautionary/preparedness actions... heed all advice from ocean
safety officials and exercise caution. Boaters should expect
surfers using Harbor channels to reach surf breaks.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Maui and The Big Island.

* Until 600 PM Thursday.

* For abundant moisture from Tropical Storm Guillermo moving
over the area.

* Excessive runoff may produce rock and mudslides in steep
terrain. Fast moving water may create life-threatening
situations.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is very dangerous. Remember
that it does not have to be raining heavily where you are for
flash flooding to occur.

Monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to take immediate
action if flash flood warnings are issued.
