Always happy when this day rolls around. For the weekend looks beautiful weatherwise, great weather for cleaning up the yard and putting away the remainder of my deck furniture, have a feeling won't be sitting out on the deck any more. TD or TS Ida is moving over Nicaragua at this time and should reemerge in the carribean this afternoon. Question will be how much will it regroup, and can it get back to a Hurricane, and if it does it will probably be a weak one. Most likely it will make its way into the Gulf, but it looks like the environment in the gulf will not be friendly to it.Whatever is left of it possibly a TS,it may make it to Florida. Horrible events at Ft. Hood.It again points out, that no matter where you are,you might be in the wrong place at the wrong time.My biggest fear is this will stir up hatred for the muslim religion, which would be completely wrong. We can't blame a religion,or group of people for extremist views.I'm sure we will hear a neverending story about this guy,and how he slid toward his horrible actions.I really pray for the families who lost loved ones down there.

Here it is Nov. 5th and we've had a few snowshowers in central new england this morning and we are talking about a tropical storm. Its way down there off the coast of Nicaragua, but indications are that it will move over the country and enter the carribean. The question is how quickly does it move over land and will it survive,if it does,it will probably move North into the Gulf. Then the question is what weather systems will effect its track thereafter. Right now t...

We have 97L in the SW Carr.,lots of uncertainty with this system,as expected this time of year. The environment isn't too hostile so it seems to be getting its act together, will not be surprised to see it attain TS status in the next day or two.Not much steering down there,so it will probably drift for a while.Models seem to split either taking it into central america or moving n or nnw toward the Gom. Just don't have a good feel for what this system is going to do...

Even with not much on the ballot to get excited about,I still plan on voting. It's very important to me for the simple reason,it's my right, and although I've become extremely cynical with the people in my government,I still do not want to take things for granted and leave the choice to other's. Over time I've become an advocate for term limits in all branches of government right down to the city positions.I find too many people get into government to make it the...

Although yesterday was a little above normal, this week will be below normal, with a couple of chances for precip on tuesday night and Thursday night. The thursday night event could even see a little snow for the higher elevations, but not much. November brings average temps dropping pretty fast as the month progresses, can have some stormy patterns set up,if enough cold air is available, always a chance of an early snowstorm, especially the last half of the month. I ex...
