Atmospheric Scientist
Angela is a meteorologist and climate scientist who hails from the city of rock and roll and burning rivers - Cleveland, Ohio. She knew from a young age that weather was her true calling, and ventured to Valparaiso University to achieve a degree in meteorology. After graduating in 2006, she moved to Atlanta and attended the Georgia Institute of Technology to broaden her atmospheric education. There she specialized in tropical meteorology, but her true passion was climate. After receiving her Master of Science in Earth and Atmospheric Science in 2009, Angela worked at CNN as a weather producer until 2011. While at CNN, Angela forecasted, created on-air graphics, wrote wires and blogs, and managed on-air weather hits. In May of 2011, Angela made the cross-country move to San Francisco to take the position as Weather Underground's first Atmospheric Scientist. Her main duties at Weather Underground include creating new and interesting climate change content, blogging, and keeping up with extreme weather events.
When she's not forecasting hurricanes or reading the latest climate science papers, Angela enjoys spending time in the outdoors, chasing storms in the Great Plains, making the best of public transportation, and conversing over a good meal with good friends.
