A narrow band of moderate to heavy snow from near Chicago east to Benton Harbor and Coldwater will move just a little further north into the Interstate 94 corridor around or shortly after midnight. Snow will persist into Saturday morning. Storm total accumulations by midday Saturday will range from 7 to 10 inches. The snow is expected to diminish or end in the afternoon.
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
