Friday
North winds up to 30 knots with gale force gusts up to 38 knots. Cloudy. Numerous snow showers through early afternoon... then scattered snow showers by mid afternoon. Waves subsiding to 6 to 9 feet.
Friday Night
North winds 10 to 20 knots diminishing to less than 10 knots after midnight. Mostly cloudy through midnight then becoming partly cloudy. A slight chance of snow showers. Waves subsiding to 2 to 4 feet.
Saturday
Variable winds less than 10 knots becoming south by mid afternoon. Mostly sunny. Waves subsiding to calm to 2 feet.

* Wind and waves during the gale warning: expect sustained winds of up to 34 knots from the north...with gusts up to 41 knots. The largest expected significant waves will be 16 feet with a maximum wave height of up to 24 feet possible.

* Timing: the maximum winds are expected around 2 am EDT Friday with the largest waves expected around 8 am EDT Friday.
